Using MUSO’s Piracy By Industry dataset, the report examines industry-wide demand for Manga alongside books, web fiction, and other publishing content, tracked across streaming, torrent, web download, and reading platforms.
In 2025, Manga didn’t just dominate publishing piracy, it became one of the defining forces in global piracy as a whole.
MUSO recorded 65.8 billion visits to publishing piracy websites in 2025, making publishing the most resilient major piracy sector despite significant declines elsewhere. Within this, Manga accounted for 73.09% of all publishing piracy traffic, up from 70.15% in 2024. Nine of the ten most visited publishing piracy sites globally were dedicated to Manga, while Manga and Anime together represented 37.4% of all piracy traffic measured by MUSO across five content sectors.
