Leading content protection and audience connection company MUSO has today announced a partnership with Kobalt Entertainment, which sees the appointment of David Moscato as MUSO’s Head of Italy.

Founder & CEO of Kobalt Entertainment, David has covered senior positions as Managing Director of Multinational Companies in Italy like Ingram Micro, Director of Microsoft, Regional Director of Logitech and most recently, Managing Director of Universal Pictures Italy. David will be responsible for launching the company’s innovative range of content protection and audience engagement solutions to the Italian market, and starts by unveiling a number of key benefits and country-specific market report at MUSO’s Mipcom stand in early October.

“Kobalt Entertainment is very proud to bring MUSO technology in Italy as we think the current piracy environment is in a continuous evolution and we need to have a Partner with the latest technology and with the right evolution of products,” says David. David Moscato is recognized in the market as one of the most active figures in the fight against piracy, particularly during his time at Microsoft and Universal Pictures, and was directly involved in the discussion with the Italian Authority AGCOM that recently issued new legislation. As Kobalt Entertainment is a Production Company, David also understands perfectly the needs of a Company that wants to protect its IP.

MUSO’s expansion into these key European markets adopts the same approach which has enabled the UK company to grow rapidly in over six key markets in Europe, the Middle East, the Indian region and North America, with a local, focused approach, leveraging their global insight as world’s largest provider of content protection and audience monetisation services. MUSO works with over 700 companies globally, analysing over 4.5bn pages of content each day.

“David is a hugely experienced figure in Italian media industries, and we’re delighted to have him represent us in Europe,” says MUSO co-CEO Christopher Elkins. “We operate on the same values – providing cutting-edge technology to help media companies bolster online sales, with a clear, simple, results-focused approach.”
