What information is needed to start protecting my works?
The platform uses a metadata based matching system, so we’ll need some information about your works to get underway:
- Composer name(s) (as printed on the work which may include the arranger)
- Work title
- Performing artist name(s) (if applicable)
- Release date of the work (if available)
- A link to the original work (this may be a link to the work on an online store, a product page on a publisher website or any page where the work details are recorded)
We can provide you with a templated metadata import form or you can supply this to us in Excel or CSV format.
How long will it take to remove an infringement?
MUSO has developed automatic takedown notice sending, which will be sent where possible. However, once MUSO has sent the takedown notice, the website will need to take action by removing the URL or video.
Websites such as Google and YouTube have efficient processes in place to remove infringing content within a matter of minutes or hours.
Piracy websites can be very unpredictable due to their nature. Where MUSO has a takedown process the content can be removed relatively quickly in approximately 1-3 days.
The illegal digital content market landscape is constantly evolving. ICMP will be working closely with MUSO on behalf of its members to address these evolving threats to copyright and creative content.
What should I do if I find an infringement?
If you find or become aware of infringing content, as an ICMP member and user of the APP, you can take immediate action by utilising the Submit Infringements feature in your MUSO dashboard. Once received, MUSO will process a takedown request and seek the removal of the infringing content.
Which sources of copyright infringing content will MUSO capture via crawling piracy websites
The Anti-Piracy Platform automatically scans a range of hosting sites and aggregators including, but not limited to:
- Cyberlockers (e.g, openload.co);
- Streaming sites (e.g, gomovies.to);
- Torrent sites (e.g, zooqle.com);
- Blogs (e.g, Blogger);
- Forums (e.g, mobilism.org);
- File aggregators (e.g, Generalfil-es)
- Search engines (e.g, Google)
How does MUSO work?
Our content protection system scans the internet 24/7 for illegal copies of your music. We use advanced technology, expertise, and a piracy database to give you control.
